Alice In Chains are back in 2023 with their long-awaited new album "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here". The first video for the song "Hollow" already impressively proved that the quartet from the northwest of the USA is still a force to be reckoned with: "Hollow" was actually only released as a lyric video, but reached No. 1 in the Mainstream Rock Radio charts as well as the top spot in the Active Rock Radio charts. On December 18, 2012, the band posted the clip on their homepage, and it quickly turned into a home run: through word-of-mouth and pressure from fans, many U.S. radio stations abandoned the conventional route and began playing the track, though not even officially released as a single, at its full length of nearly six minutes. As the weeks went by, the increasingly frequent uses led Alice In Chains to hold the top gainer position on the Active Rock charts for a total of six weeks. Finally, the science fiction video directed by award-winning director Roboshobo (Metallica, Mastodon, Green Day, among others) is currently just shy of 1 million clicks on youtube. The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here was recorded in Los Angeles by producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Stone Sour, Deftones) and follows the successful predecessor Black Gives Way To Blue (2009). That entered the U.S. Billboard charts at No. 5 immediately upon release and has sold over 1 million units to date. Two No. 1 hit singles ("Check My Brain" and "Your Decision") and a third Top 10 placement ("Lesson Learned") followed, plus two Grammy nominations.
