Popis
After more than three long years of waiting, the masked men's group from Des Moines, Iowa finally returns in August 2008 with their fourth studio album "All Hope Is Gone"! It's going to be loud again, it's going to be hard again and it's going to be damn dangerous again, when Slipknot, the band that revolutionized the entire metal world overnight with their self-titled debut album, will soon be back in the mosh pit! While in the traditionally natural disaster-ridden Iowa, and especially from the hotbed of Des Moines, is still reported land under, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor and his notorious Chaos Crew have last spring in all peace of mind a new masterpiece hammered, which has it in itself: Together with producer Dave Fortman (including Evanescence, Mudvayne, Eyehategod, Superjoint Ritual...) and mixing master Colin Richardson (including Machine Head, Murderdolls, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine...), Slipknot were able to create a truly evil, black monster with 'All Hope Is Gone" at the well-worn Soundfarm Studio in Iowa, which is to be considered more of a statement than a profane album, as Taylor explains. "Every album we've done is a statement about that time period. I think that era is the most mature, beautiful and strong. We made an album that shows the way back, the way forward and where we are as people. I think it's the best thing I've ever done. And I challenge anyone to prove me wrong!" A fact, of which already the loyal Maggots could get their own first listening impression at the end of June, when the title track of 'All Hope Is Gone" was available for free download on the net for a highly dramatic 24 hours and only missed a solid server crash at the American Internet provider by the width of a mask! Not only because of their innovative nature Slipknot could establish themselves far beyond the borders of the metal scene as a force of hard sounds that can no longer be ignored. As pioneers of a completely new generation of metal, the crazy nine celebrate in perfection what they do best: Crashing riffs and thundering percussion meet a mixture of brutal shouts and melodic vocals, as they impressively demonstrate again on the tracks of 'All Hope Is Gone". Whether Slipknot will get the worthy audience out of their widescreen groove with the announcement 'We burn your cities down!" from the widescreen groove killer 'Gematria" at the beginning of the album, urgently forewarn their listeners with the highly explosive 'Sulphur" throw a massive thrash club between the legs, on the frosty-manic to nasty-furious 'Gehenna" little breath clouds evoke under the mask, or with the atmospheric goose bumps ballad "Snuff" once again go completely unexpected ways - when Corey Taylor confesses "I never claimed to be your saint" he simply seems credible. And if you look at it closely, sinners have always been the most interesting personalities. And perhaps also the most honest. After their well-deserved creative break, Slipknot drastically tighten the hangman's knot once again in 2008 and present a modern, fresh and above all groundbreaking album with "All Hope Is Gone", with which they once again confirm their status as one of the most influential metal bands worldwide! Masked and dangerous - probably the most unpredictable band in the world is back! Even if all hope is lost... "All Hope Is Gone" celebrates a round birthday: In 2008 Slipknot released their fourth album, which produced some of the band's defining tracks like "Psychosocial", "Dead Memories" and "Snuff" and was a huge success also in Germany with #2 and gold status. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the album, a 10th Anniversary Edition of the album is now being released, featuring newly designed artwork by Slipknot's M. Shawn Crahan, the album in a new mastering, and a bonus disc that includes the legendary concert at New York's Madison Square Garden in 2009.
