Alphaville: Forever Young (LP)

After January 12, 1984, the pop world was never the same again: "Big In Japan" by Alphaville was released on this day and their debut single set off on an incredible triumphal march around the world. The song not only catapulted straight to number 1 in the charts in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the US Billboard Dance Charts, but also straight into the top 10 in the UK and many other countries around the world. In Germany, it became the best-selling single of 1984! And yet it was just the start of a much bigger adventure: following the global success of the first single, Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens recorded the album "Forever Young", which still enjoys international cult status today.
