With his band Ubiquity (meaning "omnipresence"), American vibraphonist Roy Ayers opened a new musical chapter in his career in the early 1970s. "He's Coming" was already the third album in 1972, on which the former bebopper and his band offered an irresistible concoction of jazzy improvisations, funk rhythms, soul harmonies and spiritual depth. This sound would shape Ayer's work throughout the decade and later make him a source of inspiration for soul, funk, hip-hop and neo-soul artists.
