"Roots, Rock, Reggae: Live at the Hammersmith Odeon" is a breathtaking, previously unreleased live album by Bob Marley, recorded in June 1976, during the “Rastaman Vibration” tour over several evenings as part of the Wailers’ residency at London’s renowned Hammersmith Odeon. Booking the venue was a bold move, but Bob had achieved new fame thanks to the success of “No Woman, No Cry” on the British charts, and an enthusiastic audience filled the hall to capacity. Highlights include the transcendent title track, the rarely performed “Bend Down Low,” an extended version of “Crazy Baldhead,” and a 30-minute encore featuring a 12-minute rendition of “Get Up, Stand Up.” New liner notes by Marley’s longtime collaborator Don Letts provide an eyewitness account of this experience.
