Blossoms: Ribbon Around the Bomb

With twelve new indie rock anthems, BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominees Blossoms return for their fourth studio album, "Ribbon Around The Bomb" leaves conventional genre definitions behind. Since forming nearly 10 years ago, the British band has impressed with their energetic, honest songs and celebrated their second positioning at the top of the UK charts with their latest album "Foolish Loving Spaces" (2020). Led by lead singer Tom Ogden, the quintet is completed by Josh Dewhurst on guitar, Charlie Salt on bass, Myles Kellock on keyboards and synthesizer, and drummer Joe Donovan, and was inspired to write the title back in 2019: "While on tour in 2019 in Mexico, I visited Frida Kahlo's house. Looking at her paintings on show, someone had described one of them as being like a 'ribbon around a bomb.' [...] a ribbon around a bomb in the sense that as people we often dress things up which have a darkness lying beneath them." With Ribbon Around The Bomb, they are getting back to their musical roots: once inspired by indie legends Arctic Monkeys, they enlisted none other than Edwin Burdis - the Arctic Monkeys' creative director - for this album.
