Bobby Hutcherson: Happenings (LP)

When vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson went into the recording studio with pianist Herbie Hancock, you could always be sure that the result would be a real musical happening. For the promisingly titled album "Happenings", they teamed up with bassist Bob Cranshaw and drummer Joe Chambers in 1966. The program included six originals written by Hutcherson and Hancock's "Maiden Voyage". The final number "The Omen", for which Hutcherson swapped places with Chambers, was particularly adventurous. Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition: Stereo, completely analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl by Optimal, in a single sleeve.
