Diana Krall: Christmas Songs (LP)

Christmas Songs is the eighth studio album by Canadian singer Diana Krall, recorded with the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. It was released on October 26, 2005 by Verve Records. It is Krall's first full album of Christmas songs (apart from her 1998 EP Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas) and her first studio album with a big band. Jazz diva Diana Krall went about recording her 2005 Christmas album with audible enthusiasm and tremendous swing. Sometimes the Canadian can be heard with the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, sometimes with smaller ensembles that feature vibraphonist Stefon Harris, guitarists Russell Malone and Anthony Wilson or pianist Alan Broadbent, among others. And the great Johnny Mandel makes sure that the wintry sky hangs full of violins on three numbers.
