Freddie Hubbard: Hub Cap (Tone Poet Vinyl) (remastered) (180 g) (LP)

On *Hub Cap*, his third album for Blue Note Records released in 1961, Freddie Hubbard not only showcased himself as an extremely dynamic trumpeter but also truly demonstrated his compositional skills for the first time. While the repertoire of his two previous albums, *Open Sesame* and *Goin’ Up*, had consisted mainly of standards and pieces by his Jazz Messengers colleagues, this time the trumpeter composed four of the album’s six tracks himself. Here he is featured with a sextet whose instrumental lineup was reminiscent of the Jazz Messengers. Blue Note Tone Poet Edition: Stereo, produced by Joe Harley, fully remastered in analog by Kevin Gray from the original tapes, RTI pressing (180g), sturdy tip-on gatefold sleeve, padded inner sleeve
