J.J. Johnson & Kai Winding: The Great Kai & J.J. (180 g) (LP)

The very first release from Impulse! Records (with the catalog number A-1) is considered one of the best recordings by Kai Winding and J. J. Johnson. The two trombonists first played together in 1949 during sessions for the album "Trombone By Three" and then recorded nine more albums together until 1956. Creed Taylor, who had already produced an album by the two for Bethlehem Records in 1955, provided them with a particularly high-caliber rhythm section for "The Great Kai And J. J." in 1960, with none other than Bill Evans on piano. Verve Acoustic Sounds Series: Stereo, completely analog mastered by Ryan K.
