When guitarist Grant Green first entered the studio in September 1964 with Hammond organist Larry Young and drummer Elvin Jones to record the rousing trio album *Talkin' About!*, the air was thick with excitement. A special chemistry developed immediately between the three musicians, calling for a continuation of their collaboration. Just two months later, they returned to the studio with vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson to record the album *Street of Dreams*, on which they showcased their more subtle side. In putting together the repertoire, which is characterized by atmospheric elegance, the musicians focused on rarely played standards and songs that are not typically recorded by jazz instrumentalists.
