Let's face it - French chill-out masters Air have never had trouble mixing a sophisticated blend of mood-lifting rock and pop for the soul.
Opening with "All Cats Are Grey" by The Cure (from the beginning of their dark trilogy - Faith: Faith - Nothing like starting as you mean to go on), it soon moves into even trippier territory with 'Planet Caravan' by Black Sabbath (from their 1970 album Paranoid) and into Nino Rota's ultra-scary 'O Venezia, Venaga, Venusia' (from the original soundtrack to the 76 arthouse classic 'Il Casanova di Fellini'), before slowly but surely picking up tracks by The Band, Japan, Scott Walker and Lee Hazlewood. Melancholic and dreamy at the same time, you can be sure there's no JLS involved here.
