Lightnin' Hopkins & Sonny Terry: Last Night Blues (180g) (LP)

Lightnin' Hopkins is one of the most respected and influential blues musicians ever. He remained rooted in what is known as Texas Country Blues, not so much a style of playing, but a selection of local story songs to do. Texas is a huge state and has been to many events over the years in many different places. At first Lightnin' stayed in the area, but like others he was tempted to travel more as worldwide interest in the blues grew in the fifties and sixties. He then played all over the United States, including prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, and appeared in movies and television shows. In the seventies he traveled to Europe, especially Germany, where he was particularly popular until his death in January 1982. He was the most personal and poetic minstrel whose work will endure.
