Popis
When the "devil violinist" Niccolò Paganini captivated the whole of Europe, the enthusiastic audience waited for one moment above all at every performance: the performance of one of his hellishly difficult solo caprices. Unplayable by anyone else at the time, the pieces are still considered the lone pinnacle of virtuosity today. Violinist Augustin Hadelich now presents his Warner Classics debut with this repertoire - and shows that Paganini is by no means all about pure virtuosity
The Grammy, First Prize at the Indianapolis Violin Competition, a series of special prizes and the Warner Music Prize: these are the key data of a career that the virtuoso, born in Italy in 1984 to German parents, has recorded to date. He began as a child prodigy, later went to New York's Juilliard School, discovered the U.S. as a second home and, as a shooting star, mastered the transition from phenomenon to mature artist so convincingly that today he is considered one of the most distinguished violinists of the 21st century. He demonstrates this in the 24 Paganini Caprices, which he shapes with unprecedented poetic sensitivity, a characteristic big tone and unique empathy for each of these pieces into a true violin cosmos in a very confined space. The violin becomes a universe of musically depicted love and hunting scenes, desperate attacks of demonic frenzy, and much more...
