Elton John: Rock Of The Westies (50th Anniversary) (2CD)

"Rock of the Westies" was released in October 1975 and is Elton John's tenth studio album. The album was recorded at Caribou Ranch in Colorado and produced by Gus Dudgeon. It captures the sound of Elton and his band, who were clearly having a great time at the height of their success in the mid-1970s. As Elton says today, it was “the most authentic rock ’n’ roll record I’ve ever made.” “Rock of the Westies” made history by debuting at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, where it remained for three consecutive weeks, and also reached the Top 5 on the UK album charts. The album features the fan favorites “Grow Some Funk Of Your Own” and “Dan Dare (Pilot Of The Future).” This special 50th-anniversary expanded edition is released as a 2-CD set featuring the original album as well as a bonus CD with previously unreleased piano and vocal versions from the album sessions. The digipack also includes a 24-page booklet with new liner notes and archival photos.
