Haydn and the Balkans.
The focus of the eighth installment of the long-term project "Haydn 2032" is the influence of folk music on the composer. As a complement to Symphonies Nos. 28, 43 & 63, Giovanni Antonini and Il Giardino Armonico surprise this time with Bartók's Romanian Folk Dances. An unusual but coherent and very delightful addition. This limited and numbered edition includes two LPs, a lavish photo book with images by Mark Power, and a previously unpublished text entitled Crânes (Skulls) by French writer Mathias Énard, winner of the 2015 Prix Goncourt.
