AVID Roots continues its series of "Four Classic Roots" albums with a remastered 2CD secondary release of John Lee Hooker, complete with original artwork & liner notes. Albums included: - 'Sings Blues' - 'The Country Blues Of John Lee Hooker' - 'That's My Story - John Lee Hooker Sings The Blues' - 'House Of The Blues' Following the incredible success of our AVID Roots series, which includes such classic blues names as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Lightnin' Hopkins, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, T. Bone Walker, Lonnie Johnson, Reverend Gary Davis and B. B. King, we thought it was time to release another collection another collection from the legendarily prolific John Lee Hooker. For our second Look at the work of John Lee Hooker, we went back to the beginning for our first selection back to the beginning. Under the name Texas Slim, we present a collection or early singles from 1949-50 that John made for the King label and released in 1960 under the title "Sings Blues" in 1960. This is raw Hooker as you will never have heard him before, but all the better for it in our opinion!
