Eötvös: Gliding - Four Works for Symphonic Orchestra

Exceptional soundscapes. The sheer chameleon-like versatility of Hungarian composer Peter Eötvös is remarkable. Time and again he draws inspiration from different styles, techniques and non-European musical traditions, although thanks to his mastery he never runs the risk of falling into superficial eclecticism. The orchestral works reveal Eötvös' special ability to create extraordinary worlds of sound. On BMC RECORDS, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the composer, presents four outstanding orchestral works from the years 2003-2016. The soloist in Jet Stream is the Swedish star trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger.
