Jack White (White Stripes) Acoustic Recordings 1998 - 2016 (2CD)

On his new double album "Acoustic Recordings 1998 - 2016", rock icon Jack White dares to take a special kind of career retrospective in 2016. With a total of 26 songs, the White Stripes frontman now presents a selection of rare, sometimes never-released acoustic songs, B-sides, remixes and alternative versions, from all areas of his musical career and in chronological order. This also includes "City Lights". White originally wrote the White Stripes song for "Get Behind Me Satan". It fell into his hands again during the recordings for the Record Store Day vinyl reissue. In addition to White Stripes songs, "Acoustic Recordings 1998 - 2016" also contains Raconteurs and solo songs, such as "Never Far Away", the songs for the "Cold Mountain" soundtrack or "Love Is The Truth", which Jack White composed for the Coca-Cola campaign. All recordings from "Acoustic Recordings 1998 - 2016" were remastered in 2016 especially for the release by Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Andrew Mendelson in Nashville. With a few exceptions, the tracks were written and produced by Jack White himself. T Bone Burnett produced the song "Never Far Away", Beck was behind the mixing desk for "Honey, We Can't Afford To Look This Cheap", White worked with Brendan Benson for "Top Yourself (Bluegrass Version)" and "Carolina Drama" and with Rob Jones for "Machine Gun Silhouette". "Acoustic Recordings 1998 - 2016" will be released on White's own label Third Man. Jack White fans take note: "Acoustic Recordings 1998 - 2016" is the name of the legendary musician's career-spanning new best-of album.
