Popis
The Norwegian composer Geirr Tveitt was only 16 years old when he began recording melodies sung by older people in his home region of Hardanger. He came from a very musical family with many talented musicians. Tveitt's house was decorated with many Norwegian folk instruments, including the beautiful Hardangerfela (a violin with particularly resonant strings). Here we can hear works by Geirr Tveitt, all based on melodies from Norwegian folk music. The International Record Review described this composer as "one of the greatest originals of the 20th century".
