The CD material is supplemented by recordings made in Klövsjö in 1977 by the Swedish Music Archive and the Music Department in Uppsala. They accompanied several elderly women with a vibrant tradition of cowherding who were tending their cattle in the forest. Today’s practitioners of the Kuling and horn are also represented by Lena Willemark and a live recording from Stångjärn at the Falun Folk Music Festival in July 1995, featuring Agneta Stolpe, Susanne Rosenberg, Eva Rune, Jonny Soling, Anna Aronsson, and Pelle Jakobsson. The series “Musica Sveciae: Folk Music in Sweden” is a collaboration between Swedish Radio P2, the Swedish Music Archive at the Royal Musical Academy, and Caprice Records.
