Dave Brubeck Quartet: Jazz: Red, Hot And Cool (180g) (LP)

Dave Brubeck's musical career began in the early 1940s. in 1946 he founded an octet, which was joined by alto saxophonist Paul Desmond in 1950. The first regular formation of the Dave Brubeck Quartet with Paul Desmond consisted of Joe Dodge on drums and alternately the brothers Bob and Norman Bates on bass. The formation with Dodge and Bob Bates is the one that can be heard here. Jazz: Red, Hot and Cool was recorded live at New York's Basin Street Club on two separate occasions.
