The original album Brubeck Plays Bernstein (Columbia CS8257) appears here for the first time on CD. At the beginning of the CD, the Dave Brubeck Quartet performs a composition by Dave's older brother Howard, accompanied by the New York Philharmonic under the direction of Leonard Bernstein. Later we hear the quartet with five interpretations from Bernstein's Broadway musicals West Side Story and Wonderful Town.
