Robben Ford: The Inside Story (LP)

Robben Ford's "The Inside Story" is an icon of the L. A. fusion scene of the early 80s. His compositions are cinematic and funky at the same time. His backing band is also iconic with Yellowjackets Russell Ferrante (synthesizer), Jimmy Haslip (bass) and Ricky Lawson (drums) as well as The Blues Brothers band members Tom "Bones" Malone (trombone), Alan "Mr. Fabulous" Rubin (trumpet), Lou "Blue Lou" Marini (saxophone) and Steve Cropper (producer). It's a very cleanly recorded album. Every song is just wonderful to listen to. On some of his solos, Robben is an endless waterfall of hip ways to play blues and incorporate jazz idioms into his blues playing. Simply put, this is one of the best jazz/fusion releases from one of the greatest guitarists of all time! "The Inside Story" is available in a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on gold colored vinyl and includes an insert.
