"Keep The Pressure On: The Beverley’s Rock Steady Singles 1966–1967" is the third installment in Music On Vinyl’s exclusive Trojan compilation series, which celebrates the best works of the legendary reggae label Trojan Records. It was compiled by Laurence Cane-Honeysett, who also wrote the liner notes. This double album focuses on the Beverley’s catalog and features some of the best and most popular Jamaican recordings from a fascinating era when rock steady was establishing itself as the island’s national sound. The 28 tracks on this compilation impressively demonstrate the outstanding quality of Beverley’s releases from that era and illustrate why, in the summer of 1967, Beverley’s Records was competing with labels such as Studio One and Treasure Isle for the title of Kingston’s leading record company. Some of Beverley’s best tracks can be found on this compilation, including Desmond Dekker & The Aces, Derrick Morgan & Roland Alphonso & The Beverley’s All-Stars, and others. “Keep The Pressure On: The Beverley’s Rock Steady Singles 1966–1967” is available as a numbered limited edition of 1,500 copies on orange vinyl.
