"Intensified Sounds: The Beverley’s Rock Steady Singles 1967–1968" is the fourth installment in Music On Vinyl’s exclusive Trojan compilation series, which celebrates the best works of the legendary reggae label Trojan Records. It was compiled by Laurence Cane-Honeysett, who also wrote the liner notes. This double album focuses on the catalog of “The Beverley’s” and features some of the best and most popular Jamaican recordings from a fascinating era in which rock steady established itself as the island’s national sound. The 28 tracks on this compilation impressively demonstrate the outstanding quality of Beverley’s releases from that era. Some of Beverley’s finest artists are featured on this compilation, including The Maytals, George Dekker, Derrick Morgan, and others. “Intensified Sounds: ‘The Beverley’s Rock Steady Singles 1967–1968’” is available as a numbered, limited edition of 1,500 copies on orange vinyl.
