Olga Scheps (piano) - Tchaikovsky

In the Satie anniversary year, the Echo-Klassik prize winner Olga Scheps achieved a real coup: the Satie album, which was highly praised by the press, immediately conquered the number one spot in the German classical music charts. On her new album, the pianist, who was born in Russia and grew up in Cologne, presents music by Tchaikovsky that is practically in her blood. She recorded the famous First Piano Concerto with the WDR Symphony Orchestra under the young Spanish conductor Carlos Dominguez-Nieto. She complements this recording with solo works such as the popular Nutcracker Suite in Mikhail Pletnev's arrangement for solo piano, which is as original as it is pianistically challenging, as well as the famous "Chanson triste" and the months of October and November from the cycle "The Seasons".
