Popis
Music for Pentecost and Trinity Sunday occupies only a relatively modest place in Baroque music. While Christmas and Easter inspired many composers to create magnificent works, musical representations of the Holy Spirit and the Trinity often remained more subtle and less numerous. That is precisely why *German Spirit* is a special album. It offers a carefully curated selection of music for these feast days and sheds new light on a repertoire that is rarely explored in all its richness. With “German Spirit,” the Margaretha Consort completes the triptych following “German Christmas” (2018) and “German Passion” (2023). This latest recording, too, is more than a historical reconstruction: it is a vibrant musical experience in which sound, spirituality, and heritage come together. Through a combination of historical awareness, artistic curiosity, creativity, and passion, this centuries-old music sounds fresh and relevant, building a bridge between the past and the present.
