Guðrið Hansdóttir: Beyond The Grey

When she learned to play the guitar at the tender age of fourteen, Gudrid Hansdottir also wrote her first songs. Inspired by the profound selection of classics such as Kate Bush, Jethro Tull and Jimi Hendrix in her father's record cabinet, but also taken with the sweet charm of Swedish pop music, the singer/songwriter finally released her debut album "Love Is Dead" in 2007, which, like her second longplayer "The Sky Is Open" (2010), won the local "Planet Award" - the latter even became the best-selling album on the Faroe Islands! In addition to smaller club concerts on the European mainland, the 29-year-old singer has also performed at the renowned SXSW Festival. "Beyond The Grey" touches with eleven cleverly arranged song gems, peppered with irresistible melodies and infused with sweet melancholy, and of course Hansdottir's wonderful voice. Nordic folk-pop at its very best!
