Myrra Rós: One Amongst Others

Compared to other musicians in her field, Myrra Rós is a late bloomer and didn’t start playing guitar until she was 20. Nevertheless, the Icelandic artist is now one of the leading folk musicians in her home country—not least because of her magnificent debut album *Kveldulfur* (2013). In addition to regular performances on the island, the musician has also wowed audiences on the European mainland as part of the Melodica festivals. Myrra Rós’s moving voice truly comes into its own in the quiet, deeply intimate songs—and it is precisely this unmistakable Nordic melancholy that we love so much about Scandinavian artists. Thus, “One Amongst Others” has turned out to be a worthy second album—and one that you’ll surely enjoy listening to again and again.
