Popis
Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason presents his eighth studio album, *Hope in Shadow*. The album was recorded in collaboration with Edward Gardner and the London Philharmonic Orchestra and features Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1, Bruch’s “Kol Nidrei,” Bloch’s “Schelomo: Rhapsodie Hébraïque,” and John Williams’ theme from “Schindler’s List.” “This album consists of music that I have loved for a long time—first as a listener and now through the thrilling experience of performing it myself. All of these works convey the sense that they push the boundaries of sound in extreme and diverse ways. By embodying the stories the pieces tell and the diverse characters within the music, we can venture down paths of extreme suffering and drama and, through the complexity of the music, reach peaks of hope.” (Sheku Kanneh-Mason)
