Emmi Kujanpää: Nani (LP)

Emmi Kujanpää is a Finnish folk musician who works as a singer, kantele player, composer, and researcher. She founded the Finnish-Bulgarian vocal ensemble Finno-Balkan Voices, which brings together Finnish and Bulgarian vocal traditions. On her first solo album, *Nani*, she combines her powerful and soulful solo voice, her playing of the kantele (the Finnish folk zither), and ornamental percussion with the expressive voices of the choir from the Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares Vocal Academy. Finnish musicians Jarkko Niemela (trumpet, vocals), Eero Grundström (harmonium, vocals), and Sauli Heikkila (Tuvan throat singing, morin khuur) appear as guest musicians on the album.
