Baklava: From Skopje With Love (LP yellow)

With "For Skopje With Love", the Macedonian band Baklava proudly presents its fifth album. Traditional sounds combined with modern influences from all over the world - a real exclamation mark from Skopje! Released as a CD on CPL Music. Baklava introduced themselves in 2006 with their debut album of the same name, on which they boldly ventured into the processing of traditional songs. Now, with this album, they continue their musical journey by looking closer to home rather than further afield and telling stories from the capital of North Macedonia. Baklava breathes new life into urban legends and revels in childhood memories, colors and flavors. Their music can be described as "progressive world music" with elements of jazz and ethno. Today, the band consists of founding member Elena Hristova, who is not only active as a singer, but also as a composer, lyricist, arranger, producer and ukulele player. Dejan Sibinovski is also a co-founder, but also a lyricist and daf and darabuka player. Other members are Vladimir Stojcevski (bass guitar), Petar Hristov (clarinet and saxophone), Timko Chichakovski (kanun) and Dejan Teodosoevski (cello). The mixture of 'everything and everything', tradition and the new, the abstract and the material, forms an extremely fascinating heterogeneity, in which the listener cannot predict exactly where it will lead him, so that there is always a surprise. "For Skopje with love" is a musical postcard in which Baklava sings of the beauties of her home town and is one of the most beautiful dedications to musical freedom.
