"Orange And Blue" from 1994 was created with much celebrity support, including Marc Johnson, Pino Palladino, Peter Erskine, Steve Gadd and Manu Katché. It reached number 17 on the US jazz charts. When Al Di Meola created the Al Di Meola Jazz Guitar in cooperation with Gibson in the early 90s, it was only a matter of time before the unique sound of this guitar would be heard on a studio album. "Orange and Blue" was that album in 1994. Di Meola's virtuoso guitar runs and solos combine his unique technique with a new-found passion for swing. Compositions like "Chilean Pipe Song" and the wild "Casmir" mark this milestone.
