John Lee Hooker: Folk Blues (LP)

The "Blues Joint Collection" brings together music from the most famous pillars of the blues, whose works provided the template and inspiration for countless rock artists and later generations of blues masters from the mid-60s onwards. One notable release in John Lee Hooker's extensive catalog, Folk Blues, was released by the Crown label in 1962 and brings together tracks originally recorded for Modern Records between 1951 and 1954. Among its many highlights are "Bad Boy," one of the best examples of Hooker's wordless humming and singing in tune with his guitar figures, and "Rock House Boogie," which offers a taste of Hooker's use of the bottleneck style.
