Popis
Like pearls on a string, the countries and cultures are strung around the Mediterranean - and a wealth of the most diverse musical styles, all of which form a great "Sound of Europe", consisting of styles such as fado, fandango, tarantella and much more. Christina Pluhar, her ensemble L'Arpeggiata and a star-studded cast of vocal soloists embark on a journey with the album Mediterraneo, uniting traditions from Portugal, Catalonia, Spain, Italy and Greece. Christina Pluhar follows up her successful project Los Pájaros Perdidos, which took her to South America Christina Pluhar has invited absolute top stars from the respective countries to this album, which is only at first glance a crossover project. For very deep are the roots between baroque and country-typical sounds. The world-famous fado queen Mísia takes over the Portuguese part of the programme, the celebrated soprano Nuria Rial is responsible for Catalonia, and her colleague Raquel Andueza, who comes from Pamplona, for Spain. Vincenzo Capezzuto and Katerina Papadopoulou represent Italy and Greece "The sea does not separate cultures, it connects them". This motto, which Christina Pluhar prefaces this project full of melancholy and exuberant temperament, immediately comes to life in the many colours and rhythms. It is a journey through picturesque seascapes, rich in detail and sunlit, full of contrasts - but united by the great sea in the middle of Europe.
