Antonio Vivaldi composed the "Four Seasons" for his orchestra at the Ospedale della Pietà, which consisted exclusively of female musicians. Jordi Savall and Les Musiciennes du Concert des Nations are inspired by this. In 2023, young female baroque musicians from all over Europe played together with musicians from his Concert des Nations in an orchestral academy. The soloist Alfia Bakieva, who has Tatar roots, lives in Salzburg and plays the violin as well as folkloric string instruments. Vivaldi prefaced the four concerti with explanatory sonnets in the printed score to aid understanding. The edition contains the main work with the original sonnets - and once without - as well as four further concertos.
