You wouldn't have expected Billy Talent to be afraid of heights, given that they've been playing the world's biggest festival stages for years. The Canadian alternative rockers have also been high up in the charts several times with three number one albums. Nevertheless, their new album is called "Afraid Of Heights". But that title, which also lends its name to the first single, is meant as a metaphor, according to the band. It's about coping with challenges and fears, about the struggle with oneself or with society, and about getting back up again after falling. Billy Talent have recently experienced this themselves. Due to his MS illness, drummer Aaron Solowoniuk had to take a break during the recording of "Afraid Of Heights". He was replaced in the studio by Alexisonfire drummer Jordan Hastings, who will also fill in at the upcoming live gigs and festivals. All in all, eleven more songs are waiting on the new album, which musically follow the sound of their predecessor "Dead Silence" - even if the first single is almost a bit restrained for Billy Talent standards. Besides the standard CD and the double LP version, "Afraid Of Heights" is also available as a deluxe edition. In addition to the album, it contains a bonus CD with eight demo songs of the band.
