Son Of Dave is actually Benjamin Darvill, comes from Canada and was on the road for a dozen years with the Crash Test Dummies. As Son Of Dave he digs deep into the swamp of blues feelings and is considered a great one-man orchestra! He combines earthy harmonicas of all pitches with rhythms straight from the swamps of Louisinana and a voice that is as much at home in the pain-ridden falsetto as it is in the sex-starved bass. His sound also includes organ, guitars, bass and plucked cello, all equipped with state-of-the-art pedal technology. Among the inner circle of kindred spirits are Skipp McDonald and Little Axe. "Low Rider" and "Squat That Rabbit" are two fantastic cover versions on the album, "Low Rider" by West Coast funk ensemble War, both "Squat That Rabbit" by Taj Mahal. Definitely one of the possible post blues albums of the still young year!
